In a Hurry

We've all be there before. In a rush, hurrying through the aisle of a grocery store, or driving a bit over the speed limit to make it to work on time, or even rushing to make an appointment. We all seem to be hurrying through life. Recently, I learned how important it is not to rush through a season. You'll miss the value in the lessons along the way or make mistakes and have to go back to correct them before you're able to step in to your next season. Several months ago, when Scott planned to be away at a conference, I decided to attempt the biggest surprise DIY project for him. 6 months prior, I had begun gathering Pinterest photo inspiration on one of those private boards so he wouldn't see--right, Steph, because he browses Pinterest daily and may stumble upon your wacky ideas. Fix my eyes on the unexpected

I don't know about anyone else, but the start of 2018, for me, has proven to be one of my least-favorites! We're almost to May, and I can say I am eager and ready for the start of a new season. I'm not talking about this crazy Charleston weather we've had either. Many people begin a new year with lists of goals and resolutions. Every year we go away the week after Christmas with family and don't come home until after the new year, which always leads to me feeling behind. Trying to play catch-up, my heart feels anxious about starting afresh, ready for the unexpected. These last few months have held more than their share of struggles, uncertainties, and even pain for me personally. It's not something I like to go around sharing with every person I run into.
